Hotel Review: Mockingbird Hill Hotel in Port Antonio, Jamaica

Are you looking for a sustainable eco-hotel in Jamaica? My husband and I stayed in Mockingbird Hill Hotel in Port Antonio for a few days during our one week trip to Jamaica.

It was warm smiles that welcome us to Port Antonio after a few hours bus ride from Ocho Rios.

We were welcomed by Shireen and Barbara to their charming Mockingbird Hill boutique hotel. The hotel has a personal touch, relaxed atmosphere and an inviting character. We were swiftly given the hotel briefing to say where everything are and showed us our room.

We stayed in a Deluxe Room with a balcony that was overlooking the lush garden of the hotel and the Caribbean sea. It was a relaxing luxury experience yet it has a personal touch and sustainability factor.

During our stay in the Mockingbird Hill Hotel, we did visit a few places and did eco-friendly activities around Portland.

The Mockingbird Hill Hotel has 10 elegant rooms an inviting place to relax and to experience the island vibes. There are also various types of rooms that the hotel has:

The Mockingbird hill hotel also has a spacious garden that has a good number of bird species. During our stay, my husband and I usually hang out in their common areas overlooking the wonderful view of Port Antonio. We had a perfect encounter with a hummingbird.

The Mille Fleurs restaurant of the hotel is one of the best restaurants in town. It is focused on local Jamaican cuisines and some selected seasonal food cuisines. They are also offering vegan-friendly options and proudly supporting local produce.

The hotel also has a good size low chlorine swimming pool that’s also well maintained. The poolside area is a great place as well to hold a party and weddings.

During our stay, we went to visit the Frenchman’s Cove, Reach Falls, Rio Grande, Winnifred Beach, Boston Bay and around Port Antonio.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Mockingbird Hill Hotel in Port Antonio. I was impressed with their commitment to promoting eco-tourism, sustainability and supporting local. The hospitality service of the whole team was superb and truly gave us a relaxing and stress-free stay. We also enjoyed all the sightseeing and activities arranged by the Mockingbird Hill Hotel. This eco-boutique hotel is truly a gem of the island.
