My husband is a cricket fan, so as a sports enthusiast, it is imperative to include the Lord’s Cricket Ground in your visit to London.

The ground is named after Thomas Lord, who founded it in 1787. The original ground was in Dorset Square, but it moved to its current location in 1814. The Pavilion at Lord’s is one of the most iconic buildings in world cricket, built-in 1889. The famous slope of the Lord’s pitch, which slopes down from the Pavilion end to the Nursery end, is one of the unique features of the ground.

Lord’s has hosted many historic cricket matches over the years, including the first-ever Test match in 1884 between England and Australia, the final of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, and the archery games of the 2012 London Olympics.

I highly recommend one of the fun things to do in London with friends and family is to visit the world-famous wax museum of Madame Tussauds London. It was founded by Marie Tussaud, who was a French wax sculptor and opened to the public in 1835. Inside the museum, you have selfies with the wax figures of celebrities, politicians, historical figures, and other famous personalities. You are literally and figuratively rubbing elbows and shoulders with these high-profile celebrities. I mean, why not, you are in London after all!

There are around eight zones that you can visit in Madame Tussauds London, they are Music, Awards Party, Royals, Marvel, Star Wars, Culture, Sports and Film. The wax figures are created through a complex process that involves taking detailed measurements and photographs of the subject, creating a clay model, and then using that to make a mould for the wax figure.

I always love a visit to the zoo, especially the London Zoo! The Zoological Society of London – ZSL London Zoo is one of the world’s oldest and most famous zoological gardens, located in Regent’s Park, one of London’s main parks. It was opened to the public in 1828 and has since become a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors from all over the world.

The zoo is home to over 750 species of animals, including lions, tigers, giraffes, gorillas, penguins, and many more. The zoo is also home to several rare and endangered species, such as the Sumatran tiger and the western lowland gorilla, which are part of the zoo’s breeding program aimed at conserving these species.
